Celeste Burke
An academician who spends most of her time working in a logical, linear, goal-oriented mode, Celeste Burke creates art as a way of connecting to something more fundamental. This is a source of energy and inspiration that bypasses the intellect to more directly engage the senses and activate the intuition. Her abstract pieces, including collage, acrylic and mixed media works, are intended to convey color, movement, twists and turns, layers of complexity that take you in unexpected directions. She hopes when you take another look you’ll see something new.
Celeste Burke is an Associate Dean at OSU, and is a resident of Dublin. She lives in the Ballantrae neighborhood with her husband who is a faculty member at OSU. They share their home with two delightful Siamese cats. She is a mother of two grown children—a son who practices law in Columbus, and a daughter who teaches in California. She is also “grandmamma” to triplet 2-year olds and visits California as often as she can to make a fuss over them.
Jody Williams
Up and coming jewelry designer, Jody Williams , started making jewelry when she found it difficult to locate pieces to match an unusual color in her wardrobe. But her desire to create goes back to her childhood in New Jersey where she was always displaying and designing artistry in one form or another from mud pies to doll clothes. Later it was pottery, needlepoint, antique refinishing, clothing and costume creations for her children. But it was always the unconventional style or process that made her work unique. She was greatly influenced by her Italian grandmother, Rose Demase, who was creative in every aspect of her life and gave her an eye for design.
She uses materials of the finest quality including unique hand-blown glass, Raku lamp work, dichroic and ceramic beads. Also used in her designs are semi-precious stones, vintage beads, unusual polymer clay beads, Swarovski crystals, sterling, Bali and Hill-tribe silver and gold-filled accents. She specializes in bracelets and earrings with emphasis on enticing patterns and color combinations to make the women who wear her designs feel beautiful and get lots of compliments. 'My hope is that everyone who purchases my designs enjoys wearing them as much as I enjoy creating them".
Jody is a native born Jersey girl who currently resides in Dublin Ohio with her three incredible children and three crazy cats.
Jack Hyer
Jack’s passion for making custom knives has led him to create artisan pens. He uses exotic and natural woods. Jack makes American Twist, Cigar, and Wall-Street style pens.
Bethany Strock
Bethany Strock is a Dublin resident whose roots actually lie in the field of education. She has taught reading and math in public schools for six years. Photography, however, has always been her serious hobby stemming back to her earliest childhood memories. She now works in the field of portrait photography as well as displaying her love of travel and nature photography.
Her love of the outdoors, however, is reflected in her work. Her passion of looking at the world through the unblinking lens of her camera has led her in various travels that have taken her around the world. Bethany’s desire is to find natural beauty in even the most simple of objects. She invites the viewers of her work to see the world through a different set of eyes, to appreciate things that were once overlooked, and in so doing- catch a glimpse of the thumbprint of our creator.
Bethany encourages you to take a look for yourself and see if you can discern that same sense of wonder and amazement in the simple, yet glorious things that fill the world around us.
